Join us in Boonville, MO, August 19th through the 21st to witness the total solar eclipse, an event that won’t come again until 2024.

On August 21st at 11:44 AM Central, Boonville will be front-row center to an epic celestial event: the first total solar eclipse visible from all U.S. mainland states since 1979.

Boonville, MO makes for an ideal viewing spot because it’s located directly under the centerline of the total eclipse’s path through Missouri, giving Boonville one of the longest viewing times in the state at 2 minutes and 39 seconds.



The Chamber of Commerce is hosting a celebratory Blackout Block Party on Sunday afternoon, August 20th in the Depot District near the Visitor Center  and historic train Depot featuring events, food and activities from local groups and vendors.

Hail Ridge Golf Course will be hosting a Golf Tournament on the day of the eclipse, Monday the 21st.

The Boonslick YMCA with be hosting the Lets’ Glow Now, Eclipse 5K Glow Run on Sunday August 20th starting at 7pm.  This will be a family friendly 5K.  Register by 8/14 to get a T-shirt and glow goods to commemorate the race.  Register online at Itsyourrace.com or by calling 660-882-8500.

Lot’s of other clubs, churches and organizations will be hosting meals, music, and festivities as well, so stay posted for more information to come.

Parking & Shuttles

Designated parking will be arranged for RVs as well as cars, trucks & SUVs for the day of viewing. Shuttles will be available at these locations to transport you to and from the festivities.

RV Parking – Contact one of these established RV lots to arrange parking or contact us to park in one of our designated RV locations:

  • RV parking with electric: $60/night
  • RV parking without electric: $40/night
  • 2 night minimum

Airport Parking

  • $10 pre-registration through Aug. 15th
  • $20 – day of, after Aug. 15th

Pre-registration: Those who pre-register for parking will receive a parking pass and 2 pairs of viewing glasses in the mail prior to the event.

Day-of Parking: we’ll have a viewing location set up for you at the Jesse Viertel Memorial Airport (click here for directions).


Rent a tent at Kemper Park or bring your own! We’ll have Bubba’s Pampered Pedalers Tents set up for rent for $100 a night—enjoy a tent all set up for you as well as shaded lounge areas along with snacks and cold drinks. Downtown attractions, restaurants and festivities are all within walking distance of the designated camping area.

Registration: Upon registration for camping space, a parking pass will be mailed to you for parking in one of our designated locations.

Shower Facilities: A Shower Truck will be onsite so campers can clean up before or after joining the festivities.

Eye Protection

We feel protecting your eyes is essential for watching the solar eclipse. Exposing your eyes to intense visible light can cause retinal burns and potential permanent damage.
Gear up for the big event!

Eye protection will be mailed to those who pre-register for parking or register for camping space at Kemper Park. Glasses will be available for purchase to wear during your viewing experience. We’ll also be offering cool hats and shirts to commemorate the event!

Event will feature food, beer, DJ, and you can get your picture taken with the Bud Girls & Budweiser Clydesdales.

Hail Ridge

Participate in a special golf tournament on one of the Premier 18-Hole golf courses in mid-Missouri.

Mitchell Antique Motorcar Museum

The most extensive collection of Antique Motorcars & Wagons in the world will be available for touring. Tickets $5 for staff tour, $10 to tour with the owner for up to 3 hours.

New Visitors Center and River, Rails & Trails Museum

Our New Visitors Center is open to the public and provides brochures and area information as well as great souvenirs for Boonville and the Katy Trail.

The River, Rails & Trails Museum tells the story of Boonville area history and features a half-scale Keel Boat, a replica fort children’s area, authentic wagon, and train memorabilia.

Fees: There will be fees for camping, airport parking (day of viewing) and also RV parking. They are as follows:
2 night minimum
